Point Clare Public School Library

Weekly lessons in an inviting learning space that encourages students to develop a love of reading and learning. Students are encouraged to collaborate, communicate, investigate and learn in a comfortable, safe and enjoyable environment.

The library is an important part of your child's education. Our Teacher Librarian, assists the students to develop information literacy skills, fostering individuals who strive to learn, as they become lifelong learners.

Each class participates in a weekly library lesson, designed to engage students in literature appreciation, information skills, computer skills and enquiry-based learning. During library lessons, the students are encouraged to borrow books from our selection of fiction and non-fiction texts, according to their interests and reading and development level.

Library Opening Hours

The library is open during lunchtime for student use. Students can participate in activities such as board games, reading, drawing, puzzles and Lego. Students are also able to borrow and return items outside the student’s weekly library lesson.

The library is also open before and after school, Monday to Friday:

  • Before school 8:30am - 8:55am (closed Tuesday and Wednesday mornings)

  • After school 3pm - 3:30pm (closed Tuesday afternoon)

Please feel free to visit the library before and after school, once COVID restrictions end. Enjoy your child's love of reading and borrow a book, or gain assistance with locating information for project work or homework assignments. Students must be accompanied by a  parent or carer before and after school.
