Damaged, Lost and Overdue Books

Damaged, Lost or Overdue Books

Students are responsible for the books they borrow and we trust that the books will be looked after whilst in the care of students. To avoid lost or damaged books, we recommend that library books are kept in a designated spot in the house, and that the books are returned to this spot after reading each time e.g Keep library bag on the door handle in child’s bedroom

However, we understand that accidents do occur....

If a borrowed item has been lost or damaged, please contact Mrs McCabe, via the school office or send a note via your child.
We appreciate your support and trust you understand that if books are lost or damaged then a small replacement fee will be issued. The school Library Policy states that any books that are lost or damaged beyond repair are to be paid for so they can be replaced.

Overdue Books

Overdue notes are emailed to the students family email address. Please ensure that the school has the correct email address to avoid confusion. Students are allowed to borrow a book for 2 weeks.

Books can be returned to the library during the students library lesson, however books can also be returned before/ after school (when accompanied by a parent or carer). If the library is closed, please do not leave the books outside the library, rather return the books to the school office and they will be sent to the library.

If your child has not finished reading their book please bring the book to the library to renew it before it becomes overdue. This means that students are regularly checking that they know where their book is, and ensures that they do not get any overdue notes for their book.
